Where do we start with this little cutie?  It was such a fun newborn baby photoshoot at home with baby girl Camilla!

This newborn/family session was an ‘in home session’ in a beautiful light filled home in Kensington. Gorgeous glass doors lined the lounge room making it the perfect space for a natural light newborn/family photography session.

From the second I walked in the door, Camilla’s older brother Harvey put on a very good show for us all. His inquisitive nature made the ‘in home session’ even more relaxed and a light hearted giggle was had!

It’s always a joy to do photography sessions involving kids. All the funny stories and introductions to their favourite toys make it such a wonderful time that I can’t believe I get to call ‘work’.

We started with Camilla laying on my posing beanbag, my absolute favourite for newborn sessions and a way to get them warmed up! It was definitely a treat to be able to photograph her in the first week of her arrival.

After getting a few photos of Camilla, I was dying to get Harvey into some. He was a little hesitant in the beginning, but once he had a chance to take a few photos on my camera and was able to view them, he was happy to participate and be photographed.

Number 1 Tactic of Working with Kids:

Let them have a go at it so that they know it’s not as scary as they think! 

When you let them take a few photos and hear the noise of the shutter, you would be surprised of the friends you can make after that haha…

The photography session was so fun! The little personality of Harvey is just gorgeous, not to mention his blonde little curls!

We got some lovely family photos too which made the session even more special and definitely something they can cherish for a long time!

Thanks to James and Ash for allowing me to capture this very special time! You have such a beautiful family home and little family.
