What a handsome little man this guy is! Say hello to Alfie!

Thanks to parents Nadia and Dave for having me over to capture this precious time of your lives. Welcoming a new baby to the world, especially your very own, has got to be one of the most beautiful things in this lifetime!

Dave and I have actually known each other for quite sometime now as we completed the final years of school together! Never in my life would I have thought that I would photograph my classmate’s newborn baby as a young person. I was seriously so thrilled when they reached out to me after all that time. Ain’t the connections we have with people always so lovely?

I arrived at their house very excited to meet and photograph little Alfie. It wasn’t a difficult decision to photograph little Alfie solo first in his beautiful bedroom since it was so beautifully decorated! I started with him on my posing beanbag – his little body was oh so fresh! Side note, I was pregnant with my first baby here so whenever I see a newborn I just tear up immediately as I get so excited!

Honestly, Alfie was a dream to photograph! He slept as I gently moved him to where I needed for different poses. What a little champion he was! Of course we also got some shots as he was waking up, which I love in a newborn session – having a good balance of some sleeping and some awake is a must!

A few shots of the happy family was next and you could just see the happiness shining through as they all came together in my camera. I love getting some special shots of each parent with their bub as I think it’s nice to have these once-in-a-lifetime images. The connection with each parent individually but also as a family unit is very important!
