Still on a high from their traditional tea ceremony the day before, Even and Phuc’s wedding day was upon us. That morning, I headed to see Phuc first, who was at his good friend Tran’s house. All of the boys were very organised with all of the details and had things like the invitation, bow tie and accessories set out for me. This session was very relaxed; they chatted and laughed together, which was great to see. Phuc was so calm and collected on this special day.
Once they were ready in their suits, I headed to Eve and Phuc’s house to see the girls. As I walked in, the finishing touches of her hair and makeup was being done. When Eve turned to face me, she took my breath away… she looked so amazing! Her gorgeous Suzanne Howard dress was hung perfectly in front of the windows, where all of the action was happening. After taking shots of Eve getting ready, I photographed more details for the day ahead. What a great collection she had prepared, from the bouquet to the shoes to the accessories.
Their adorable daughter, Mia, was dressed in a fluffy white dress. She and little Emma were to be the flower girls for the day; both looked so cute with flower crowns and their wicker baskets filled with petals. Eve’s sister, Michelle, got into her dress and then helped Eve into her amazing wedding dress. As she stepped into her dress, it was incredible to see all the details come together so beautifully. After some group shots, it was time to head off to the ceremony.
On the way to the property, the weather was looking rather threatening. Phuc, however, wasn’t phased in the slightest. As I arrived, he was standing under the shelter of the mansion. After a tiny shower, the clouds cleared and the sky went from grey to blue. We could not believe our luck! The setting for the ceremony was beautiful; guests faced the mansion and enjoyed the stunning Kamesburgh Gardens surrounding them.
Once Eve arrived, it was time to get started. Guests were asked to take their seats and the celebrant got everyone prepared for the bride to make her grand entrance. Mia and Emma did a great job as flower girls; they were so cute as they scattered petals along the aisle. Michelle came next and the lovely Eve followed closely behind. Her smile lit up as she saw Phuc waiting for her at the end of the aisle. The ceremony was so touching. The two of them giggled sweetly through their heartfelt vows.
After the ceremony, family members happily gathered around for some photos. We then headed to the venue, Quat Quatta, for the reception. Eve wanted to have the photos of the bridal party here, as well as the newlywed portrait session. I could not blame her for this: the grounds surrounding the building made perfect backdrops. We took some shots in front of the house, as well as the courtyard and vibrant hedges around the back.
The reception was fabulous and it was clear everyone was having a great time. The catering was done by Crystal Place; guests enjoyed canapes to start with and were then seated for a 10 course meal. Music played softly in the background, which was accompanied by a talented saxophone player. They then had their first dance; little Mia raced over and joined them, which was so sweet! The dance continued with just the two of them and they impressed everyone with some impressive lifts and dips at the end.
The speeches were filled with both touching and funny moments. Their friend did a great job as MC. The saxophone player started playing again, alongside the DJ, and the party really started. Both did a great job at getting guests up on their feet and enjoying the dance floor. What a vibrant atmosphere! It was such a fun day and I’m glad I got to be a part of it.
Congratulations again to the lovely Eve and Phuc!
Much love,
M xxx
