This beautiful outdoor family photography session took place in Preston at a stunning park reserve near the client’s house. The weather was lovely that day making it the perfect outdoor setting to photograph this family of three!

We managed to sneak this one in just before Melbourne’s lockdown and I’m so glad we did!! We had such a fun time working together, and I can’t wait for you all to see the photos from the day.

The much loved Ryaan was 18 months old at the time of this family session. That gorgeous age when you start to walk and everything around you is so exciting and interesting. You can see his cheeky little personality really shining through the photos!

Oh, these sessions just melt me so much these days! I don’t know if it has increased now being a mum myself, but capturing those bonds between not only mother and father, but the connections and relationships between each other and the child is just something so so beautiful.

I love capturing the little smiles, the giggles, the looks of love or cheekiness – whatever your fam bam gives me.

Mum Farzaneh had chosen the location well! With the beautiful park reserve, there were plenty of setting options to choose from. We chose a few locations around the reserve with beautiful big trees, longer grassed areas, and also along a riverbank. Seriously, the perfect location to have all of these looks only moments away from each other!

We also finished the session on a path with my favourite shooting prompt for families with younger kids, aka the 1, 2, 3 whoopsie do (child swinging holding hands!). Yup, 1, 2, 3 whoopsie do! That’s what my family has always called it haha…

Although Ryaan was a little shy at the start of the session, he came out of his shell towards the end and we got some gorgeous photos of him solo with his favourite toys and some real keeper shots of the family unit that will be such a keepsake.

I always suggest bringing a few items that will help the children feel more comfortable, and they are also great to include in the photos as they do get some fabulous reactions.

So, there you are… Another beautiful, candid, natural session with timeless images to cherish for a long time.
